Garklein Recorder Solo Music
Переглядів 18414 днів тому
There's not enough solo music for the garklein recorder on UA-cam! Here's a little improvised piece with the world's smallest recorder, recorded at a windy day at the beach. I think these little instruments are great for outdoors because of how the high pitch cuts through ambient sound.

This is the first time I've recorded a video with this beautiful mustache style morchang since the passing of the master blacksmith Gorkha Ram of Rajasthan, India. Master Gorkha was a beloved member of the jaw harp community and an ambassador of the rich musical and craft heritage of Rajasthan. He lives on through our music, memories, and hearts.

There are dozens of different Jew’s harp forms throughout the Philippines, but most people are only familiar with popular forms like kubing of the Maranaw. Have you seen the large arm-length instruments of the Tausug, or delicate feather-like harps of the Negritos? Let’s visit the Center of Ethnomusicology at the University of the Philippines and celebrate the diversity of these beautiful bambo...

Relaxing with an ocarina on the banks of the Borongan River, from the Latay Archaeological site of Eastern Samar in the Philippines. This ocarina is a unique instrument in the key of alto F, and is made entirely of plastic. It is also moulded in the shape of a xun. I wish I could tell you more about this instrument, because it is so rare to find plastic ocs that are not in the key of C. I just ...

Just relaxing with a shakuhachi after a day of snorkeling and mountain biking under the sun. I love being accompanied by the birds and cicadas. This lovely Japanese flute I'm playing is more than a century old; oh the stories this bamboo could tell.

Hi, I have just bought myself and ocarina(6 holes) where can I learn to play these songs?
I have a night by noble I managed to find out the notes thanks
Very nice
Thank you!
So I am sitting here in Tenerife going through the sounds on my digital piano and this one says Ocarina. I'm thinking what is an Ocarina? So I googled it and there you are playing the Foggy Dew in a forest making me homesick lol. love it. Nice one pal.
How can I prevent my breath from coming out with the sound? I've tried blowing more lightly, but it didn't help.
try the acute bend. When bend your head down, with your Ocarina near your chest when playing the higher notes. What kind of Ocarina are you playing? It could be a problem with your instrument.

The music makes me think it's much colder than it looks.
Sounds like an electric jaw harp
What kind of fluet?:)
It is a Dixon polymer tin whistle in D
Sounds great.
spending a day at the water, playing some tunes, in the sun must be so relaxing (: lovely tunes at that as well
It was a lovely time! Thank you!
where is that : Paradise :) lovely
Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines. Thank you!
Perfect sound for the nature elements.
Nature always provides the best backing tracks!
Very nice. What island was this filmed on? Luzon?
Thanks! Panglao Island in Bohol, Visayas :D
beautiful 😊
Thank you!
Beautiful! Thanks! 😁😈
I wish I could play a Garklein but my fingers are too big 😂.
It sure is a challenge! My fingers barely fit on it
Always sounds so awesome!
Thank you!
Bravo! What a masterful improvisational duet with mother nature! You blend with such a natural beauty.
Thank you very much!
This is the first tune that I'm learning on a similar 6-hole pendant ocarina. What a beautiful song to start with! It has inspired me to keep persevering and practicing until I get the whole tune. Thanks so much for posting this, and for showing the fingering of the notes on the ocarina clearly so that others like myself can learn to play it. You have a new subscriber! 🙂
Thank you, and welcome to the wonderful world of Ocarina!
That would go hard for a doom song
@@Gabowabo1 that would be bad ass
Thats pretty cool not gonna lie
i own a sopranino, my experience is, you have to play these tiny ones well, or risk getting your ears hurt😅😅😅 but if you do play them well they're quite nice, I love the happy high sound of smaller instruments, and they look hecking cute (:
@@fluitjesfluitjes it depends on the make as well! I find that baroque instruments with a conical bore like this one have a gentler sound than the wide bore renaissance versions.
Very nice instrument.
Thanks!
Tutorial😁
I’ve been watching your channel as in preparing to get an ocarina and then I come up on this! Ozzy is my man💪💪🔥🔥
Where I can buy this ocarina?
Thanks for your interest! You can find Kevin Wright and Wrightsocarinas on Facebook. He's active on The Ocarina Network, and his instruments are auctioned on ebay.
Very nice sound
Thank you!
i really love this song played on the ocarina, i just got one recently but i cant find tabs online for this song how did you learn this?
Thanks, and welcome to the wonderful world of ocarinas! I usually play by ear, and I dont use tabs, but you can find a transcription of this tune on thesession.org
I could imagine a lot of instruments accompanying that sound well.
More videos with that coming soon!
Deve ser incrível, poder usufruir de tantos timbres.
It is a blessing to have such a collection!
Why do I cry?
Youmi Kimura's music can really touch the heart!
Bro that was just… Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful… please keep playing music, brother. The world needs it so bad man…
Thank you! Your encouragement is very much appreciated!
amazing history!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wher is this 4 Leaf jawwharp from 🤔 and wat website kan you buy it from also real kool vid 👍
This is an instrument from China. I have seen them available on danmoi.com and theharpery.com
@@ReybenKimWoodwindshm 🤔 this instrument is very kool and interesting but this jawwharp in this video is it the exact 1 from the brass chines 🇨🇳 versions or is it also a chines instrument but a different variant 🤔
Magical!
Thanks!
Greetings from Russia :) I really like your performances. It is very cool🔥 I wish you further success
Thank you very much!
❤beautiful...
Thank you!
Damn this is amazing
Thank you!
Man this was great love the tunes and only knew how to play and familiar with an dro so I've some work to do. Thanks for posting this, this was probably the best 5 pendant playing I've heard.
Thanks for tuning in! In glad you were able to pick up some new music from this!
I'm a bit curious... How does one get into alcheomusicology/ethnomusicology?
Thanks for tuning in! In my country, there are colleges that offer ethnomusicology as a bachelor's degree. Archaeology can be taken up as a post-bachelors diploma or masters degree, and you can choose to specialize in your subject of choice. In my case, I did my undergrad as a fine arts student. My thesis was on the subject of scientific illustration in archaeomusicology. I then pursued archaeology for my Masteral studies.
@@ReybenKimWoodwinds are there any colleges that teach those in the north western Luzon area? If not... Are there any books to read to have an understanding for the subjects?
You have an ASMR voice. That watch your wearing is cool I kept looking at it.
Haha, thanks! 😁 The watch made of wood by a local company called Woodchuck Watches.
I second this! I could hear your talk about mouth harps all day. May I ask who made your mini karinding? I've never seen it on a necklace like that, I want one!
@auralarchipelago it's from Karinding Craft from Indonesia!
Tf, you should run away
beautiful
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your review! I'm curious how it performs in terms of back pressure, breath requirements and general responsiveness? I'm a relative beginner but I love the idea of a pocket-sized whistle :D
Thanks for tuning in! It has little back pressure with low air volume requirements. The first octave is delicate, and the second octave is very easy to play. It has a sweet and slightly textured timbre.
Thanks for your reply! I may just have to get one 😊
@@JaimeePalmer if it’s not much trouble, please to send my regards to the maker! I’m so happy someone took over the designs after Mack’s retirement.
This is perfect, Olivier Gosselink sells double pendant ocarina's, you can play one octave with each hand, with both chambers have the same tuning. I recently bough one in low D, it is really pretty and I love experimenting with the double tuning. And I'm also searching high and low for one octave songs. Not just for the double pendant, I have more I really like pendants in general. So thanks these tunes are really helpful 😄 and really nice (:
I'd love to play one of those goselink doubles one day! Im glad to have shared some tunes you can play with it :D
@@ReybenKimWoodwinds yes you should if you ever get the change :D totally worth it, beautiful instruments
Note that Mr. Hind is in semi-retirement and is offering a limited selection of ocarinas. I'm not catching the book titles. Can you post a link to these books? Thanks.
The Susato "nine is fine" has plenty of single octave tunes. The selection of music in these are for instruments with an octave plus one, but many can be played with one :D
I'm familiar with the other three, but I don't think I've heard Twiglet before. Time to find some sheet music!
Where can i get the ocarina you used in the video? It sounds wonderful
Thanks! This one is a vintage Prima alto C from the 1970s - about 50 years old now. It is no longer available, but there are still modern versions of the instrument under the brand name Aketa.
@@ReybenKimWoodwinds thank you for the info and thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Very nice performance
